Solved - RE: [ale] Where is X11 overwriting my environmentals?

Jerry -

Thanks for your note and for the information. I do get blind-sided from time
to time on this type of issue.

I tracked my problem down and it ultimately didn't come from X11. There was
a stale entry in '/etc/bashrc' that seemed to have the last word in some
settings. Removed the entry there and now my settings in '/etc/profile' and
'/root/.bash_profile' have their intended effects.

Thanks to all who pitched in.

For all users,
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
/etc/X11/xinit/Xclient
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*

# I'm editing it for all users. Its settings seem to be

# Thanks - I went there but didn't recognize the answer to my question.
