[ale] How to upgrade kernel in Fedora?

Just for those who don't know what initrd is:

It is to make available modules needed for booting that are not in the 
kernel image at boot.  The booting kernel may be too large if the 
modules were included in the image so initrd was born.  Others can 
elaborate if they want!
