[ale] "resolving host" time, waaaay too long ?

This is a function of DNS, which translates a name (www.name.com) to a
numerical address (127.0.0.1).  If it's slow, then there might be an issue
with your DNS servers, which is normally provided by your ISP.  Contacting
them might help as they could assist in troubleshooting the problem.

All of a sudden, in the last week, my browser is spending lots more time
"resolving host" before downloading web pages.

What are the causes and how can I troubleshoot this, or is this a function
of the internet and nothing can be done ?
