Macs seem to all come with a 15-pin D connector (like what you find on a
PC game port).

There are adapters for sale just about anywhere you can find small parts
for computers.  They're more common in hobbyist type stores, but if you
can find them at something like Radio Shack (do they have those down
here in the south?  I haven't noticed any yet...) they work better
because they carry the signal with less loss.  If you're good with
electronics, and have a ton of time, you can even look up the specs on
the Internet and build your own.
