[ale] does anyone know of a linux distro small enough to fit on a 64 meg usb Compact Flash?

Maybe try Featherlinux?  or maybe a Morphix mini-cd.

I did something similar with a Virgin Connect using Peanut Linux a couple of years ago.  Fun project.
