[ale] Error message w/SSH

This is not the answer.  I don't know what made it work now.  It 
definitely isn't these settings.  After a scramble over a ITS induced 
VLAN change last Friday, the server was rebooted.  SSH quit working and 
I don't know why.  I believe after running strace and evening 
recompiling SSH with termcap installed and heavy debugging enabled that 
it is beyond me.  If I get a chance I'll post the error output 
tomorrow.  tcsetattr is function that is returning an error and then the 
session dies.  I am going to have to document the problem carefully 
since I've lost track of what has or hasn't worked.  Just thought I'd 
point out the problem is still there and I've posted in error.
