[ale] Upgrading 2.6 kernel

Chris,

That would work. However, there is a good deal of stuff in 2.6.x that
has changed from 2.4 and there have been some complaints about it not
working.

Once I had a good config for 2.6.5 though, I was able to use the make
oldconfig for 2.6.6 and it worked rather well.
