[ale] Database front end?

check out gdesklets too, if you are looking for a pretty cool use of 
python: http://gdesklets.gnomedesktop.org/

Despite it's affiliation with the gnomedesktop project, it will work 
with just about all desktop environments/windows managers (I use various 
gDesklets sensors and displays with a desktop bg set by bsetroot and 
openbox for my windows manager).

Adapting/writing your own desklet displays and sensors are rather 
insanely easy, and its all in Python (and this is high praise, since I 
generally have hated python over the years, mainly because I stubornly 
tend to avoid OO programming).
