Such a company policy should simply be supported by blocking the access. 
  After 26 years with AT&T, I assure you I've seen my share of 'logic 
immunity' as well as 'draconian IT regimes.'

I do suggest that if Jeff hasn't already done so, approach the 
'authorities' with logical reasoning.
