[ale] cheapest DSL service... ?

   I'll second the comments about Bellsouth. Every problem I ever
had with Bellsouth was always their problem. However, they
always blamed me and threatened to charge hugs sums of money
to come out and look at their equipment ($85 for the first half-hour,
$50 for every half-hour after that. I can see some Bellsouth flunky
taking a nap in his truck and charging me for it). The proverbial
straw was when I lost my DSL connection and they said it was
my problem and I needed to reinstall Windows. When I said no,
they said they would send somebody out and start charging me
even though they would not check the wires in my apartment (they
were going to charge _me_ to check _their_ equipment outside of the
aparment complex!). I said thanks, but no thanks - I switched to
comcast the next day. Well, wouldn't you know it. Two days later
DSL starts magically working! And Bellsouth never came out!
I wonder how that happened when it was entirely my fault and I
needed to reinstall Windows? Makes you wonder doesn't it?
   I hate Bellsouth DSL with a passion that is unrivalled. I cannot
say enough bad things about them. I hope they go up in flames and
burn in eternal damnation!
