[ale] power circuit based networking devices

Has anyone experience with the new devices from Linksys or
Netgear and so on that extend your home network thru the
house wiring? Netgear offers a transformer looking type
ethernet bridge for $80 at Best Buy. Bandwidth is up to
14Mb/s from what I've read. My concerns are power surges
and dropouts breaking thru to the attached home network.
I've got each home network I'm responsible for on UPSes and
surge protectors but this type of device opens a weakness
that is bothering me. I haven't found any docs on how the
companies handle power problems coming thru the devices.
Any info appreciated as wireless is not a option,
Dow
