[ale] Comcast linux...

Once you get one of the nameservers, are you able to map out the Comcast
DNS scheme with some "digging"? I have found so far that Bellsouth,
Earthlink, and Charter cable all seem to do well with a dhcp request via
a standard Linux dhcp client or their specialized DSL router/modem dhcp
requests. If you just dhcp request the network do you get any info back
at all? If not then I guess you do have to get the MAC registered. If
you run KDE then Konqueror will now do a good job of spoofing IE to the
server. It has been the MS specific javascript that failed after that
when using Konqueror.
One victory I just had was with DirectTV: their programming page, where
you look up the schedule based on drop down javascript based boxes
containing the date and time you want to look at, wouldn't work right
with Mozilla 1.5 and Java 1.4.2. So I emailed customer service,
explained the error and the page it was on and requested Mozilla
support. Sure enough within a couple of weeks the page was fixed and I
could used the drop down boxes just fine. Now there isn't a single part
of their website that I couldn't use. I am a happy customer!
I have an idea: Why don't those who have Comcast cable do some digging
on nameservers for Comcast and post their current DNS server IP and
whatever info they can come up with. We could produce a map of
Comcast's DNS for those who need it. I've thought about having Comcast
as an alternate backup connection but haven't decided to afford it yet.
I still have Earthlink DSL as the main connection at my home.

PS. Below is output of dig from here at KSU.
