	Just out of curiousity, why not run yum?

	Actually, I understand, that you can now configure up2date to
actually use yum or apt underneath the hood.  Haven't actually tried
it though.

	Yum is much much better and multiple repositories or retargeting
to local files plus mixed repositories.  I've set up a local up2date
server (current) in the past and the whole thing was a royal pain in the
fanny.

	Sounds like it's getting a corrupted file.  I've had that
happen a few times.  It may be a file is corrupted in the repository
you are trying to access.  If so, you may be SOL until they fix it.
That may also occur if a connection fails or times out and the
transfer doesn't complete.
