Since 1986 or so, I've pushed Macs for my "just use" relatives. I've 
tended to find (with some earlier exceptions for sure) that the Macs gave 
very similar value to the wintel boxes once you added the sound system, 
etc., with somewhat better stability and longer useful life. Not computer 
Nirvana, but a solid experience
