I'm running:
Linux sony 2.6.8-24.5-smp #1 SMP Wed Nov 17 11:10:06 UTC 2004 i686 i686 
i386 GNU

And I've successfully burned both dvds and cds on this box.

I thought it was related to a usb connected burner or some such variant?
