Ah well...resolved. I installed Smoothwall GPL and linux connections to
pptp server are working just fine.
I can only assume that at some point, a patch to the IpCop box left some
issue behind that eventually affected Linux generated pptp packets. It's
very odd to see windows machines successfully connect but Linux ones fail.
Regardless...guess I'll be leaving IpCop behind for awhile. I hate to
go...it's a great little fw distro and I've heard some really nasty things
about Smoothwall's developers, but I need a quick and easy fw right
now...my time is absorbed by too many other things.
I appreciate your help and input!
