[ale] IPCop alternative?

What kinds of problems are you having with pptp?  Why don't they go with 
(the much more secure and standard) ipsec?

You might try sticking a sacrifical box in place of the ipcop box and 
try pptp directly from it to see if the problem still exists.  Nothing 
else connected, just that box wide open.

You mentioned Smoothwall already, but it's so easy to drop in place, I'd 
go that route.  Then again, I believe ipcop is a fork of smoothwall, 
therefore, it's not like a complete replacement..
