Hehehe.  I can't help it.  I hate the idea of my boxes being used as a 
"zombie" for spammers, crackers, and worse...

Oh, yes.   First thing is to get all the patches installed.  Download the 
entire "patches/packages" directory under Slack9.1 at GaTech, and 
"upgradepkg" for each item I actually use.  :-)  I sleep *very* well...
