[ale] Best file comparator and difference picker

[Dow Hurst]

I've used gdiff and mgdiff and really like gdiff the best.  What other 
packages are there for displaying files side by side and letting you pick the 
differences to save to a new file?  I'd like a line by line smart diff like 
gdiff does and mgdiff tries to do.  I am hoping that other solutions might 
exist.  TIA,
