Yeah, the issue of SCO violating the GPL has been kicked around the
'net for a week or so.  For those, like SCO, who don't understand the
GPL, it is this: It is a simply copyright that, despite SCO's babble,
is quite legal and enforceable.  Any copyright holder can allow others
to copy the material under whatever circumstances and limitations that
he wants.

The GPL terms is that you can copy it as much as you want and make
whatever changes you want.  If you give it to anyone else then you
must make it available to *anyone* for no more than a nominal charge.
SCO's "Linux IP License" of $700/server is a clear violation of this.

Anyone who holds a copyright on any piece of GPL code that SCO is
protecting is free to sue the bleep out of SCO.

The University of California, similarly, can and probably will sue
SCO for violating its copyright in SCO Unix.
