Isn't the principle difference between KDE and Gnome the fact that KDE is
based on a proprietary toolbox whereas Gnome is based on GTK+ which is
open source?

If you are developing an app, do you want to pay royalties?

As far as Ximian Desktop (II) goes, it needs some work but I find it useable
for the most part. Red Carpet seems to work very well. Of course
I am using stronger box than da Black Baron and I can't see using less
than 512mb of memory in any of my systems after watching some
performance monitors. OTOH, I have a box or two with a mere 40GB
disk. I'm running RedHat 9 but have done my share of tooth grinding
over Nautilis. Nautilis is doing better, but still has some stability issues.

Anyone know how to share printers with Mac OS X?
Oh yeah, it's got a BSD base. Oh Well!

8^)
Jon
