One more data point:  I'm registered with GANDI.Net (12 Euros when NSI
was
$35) and hosted at Pair.Com (ftp access for $6/mo) for  5-ish years with
no
plans to change.

IMHO, NSI is the evil spawn of the NSF's early hegemony, the Microsoft
of
domains. (albeit less successful at defending their once de-facto
monopoly)
