[ale] OT Laptop pref

I'm going to be jumping into this particular fray soon - a laptop will
be the first serious business purchase my new LLC will make, I expect -
and one thing I've already decided, regardless of what I wind up
getting, is that it's going to be MAXED OUT on memory from the day I buy
it. That way, I'll never have to concern myself with finding new RAM
for it down the road and all the compatibility hassle that that
implies.

I wouldn't care about processor speed if not for the fact that I'm
probably going to be compiling Lord knows what on it, especially if I go
the Gentoo route.

Since I am likely to also use said laptop for grad school, I can expect
to have multiple documents onscreen (i.e., browser and word processor)
so the "widescreen" models appeal to me on that basis alone.
