[ale] OT: 64 bit laptops

hey anyone played with the amd 64bit cpus? are they really faster than
mac? i was reading up on some reports saying mac has been lying about the
speed (no surprise) but now it seems amd64 is 50% faster when no trix or
lies cloud the reports.. or is this a lie as well? i was thinking about a
64bit laptop but was unsure which would be best to get and since im using
linux on it >:) figured id ask the pros :-p so whats your opinions?
