[ale] Wireless and HDD ques

Does the NBD driver work well over a Wirelss connection 
also. I haven't tried it as our Wireless AP is down for the 
moment. It seems to work great with the Wired ethernet. Has 
anybody tried it.

Moreover I have a couple of quick questions :

Q1. How to spin down the HDD on a Linux machine from the 
console mode ?
Q2. Can we tell the advanced Power management interface of 
laptops to stop power supply to the HDD from console mode 
and further to put it in sleep mode ?

I am using Red Hat 7.2 on a Gateway laptop.
