[ale] Networking/Bridging question

I have a machine with 2 NIC's and I want to attach a
windows server to the second NIC.  I did not want to have to do any
form of routing, so I was looking at bridging to solve this problem


switch -------- eth0 [192.168.1.7] eth1 ----- [192.168.1.6]

IF I place the 2 NICs in promisc mode, will I be able
to ping 192.168.16 from same a machine on 192.168.1.7 eth0 segement?
192.168.1.7 will not be a gateway,  It is just a development machine
that has 2 RTL8139 cards.
