Ditto on Speedfactory.  Or at least I've seen it go down.  On
my network, I use named and it caches from the root name servers.
I no longer use my ISP's servers.  I've even forgotten their
IP addrs.

I'm usining spamassasin to do all my mail.  Works better than
anything I've had in the past.
