[ale] OT-ish: DNS Question

The setup:

3 data centers, 2 DNS in each data center
DNS resolves in one of the data centers, but not the others.  The /etc/named.conf, hint file, and /etc/resolv.conf are exactly the same, however, I can not perform this particular lookup in 2 of the data centers.  Any ideas?
