[ale] Large File-System Support w/2.4.9 using megaraid driver

I have a Dell Perc3 card connected to a Powervault 220s drive array
housing 14 146GB drives. I'm trying to create a 1.5 TB partition, but am
having difficulty. Any partition over 4 drives (440GB), and the megaraid
driver starts reporting the container size as negative numbers. I have 5
omore 146 GB drives on an embedded Dell RAID card for a total of 540GB +
as a single container, and it works fine. This has me thinking it is some
kind of megaraid driver issue rather than a kernel or hardware issue.
Anyone seen this type of behavior before? Any ideas who I should bug
about this possible software bug? I cannot tell who is maintaining the
driver code from the megaraid.c or ChangeLog.megaraid files. I have a
call in with Dell support.

I'm going to peruse the code (once I get some caffeine) to find where it
reports on the container size. Maybe some simple hack will fix it.

Stumped and confused.
