Hi,
I'm using a Slack 8.1 system with a GeForce2 MX 400. I'm compiling the
nvidia_kernel_1.0-4180 kernel driver. I'm using a stock 2.4.18 kernel
(haven't yet compiled a fresh one from source). When I run a make on
the nvidia kernel driver, I get:
cc -c -Wall -Wimlicit -Wreturn-type -Wswitch -Wformat -Wchar-subscripts
-Wparentheses -Wpointer-arith -Wcast-qual -Wno-multichar -O -MD
-D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE -D_LOOSE_KERNEL_NAMES -mcmodel=kernel -DNTRM
-D_GNU_SOURCE -D_LOOSE_KERNEL_NAMES _D__KERNEL__ _DMODULE
_DNV_MAJOR_VERSION=1 _DNV_MINOR_VERSION+) -DNV_PATCHLEVEL=4180
-DNV_UNIX -DNV_LINUX -DNV_INTR64_OK _DNV_^$_BITS -DNVCPU_X86_64 -DI.
-I/libmodules/2.4.18/build/include -Wno-cast-qual nv.c
cc1: Invalid option `cmodel=kernel'
nv.c: In function `nv_agp_translate_address':
nv.c:2756: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size
make: *** [nv.o] Error 1
(I had to type this by hand, so I may have a typo in the above...)
Any ideas on how to fix this? I would have thought the -Wno-cast-qual
would avoid ths type of error. No?
