[ale] Suse 8.1 - RedHat 8.0 conversion

I was able to "convert" my Suse 8.1 box into something that resembles RedHat 
8.0 in performance. I removed half the RAM (and put it in the server).
Is it possible that the sluggishness of RH 8.0 is due to RAM usage?
