[ale] Bellsouth DSL?

Just a comment. I'm using the Linksys router and it works fine on
Bellsouth DSL. However, in the past when I've had a problem with the
line, the support person refused to help me unless I was connecting via
either a Windows box or a Mac. So I have to keep a copy of their
software installed on a Windows box that I can connect directly to the
DSL modem. I cheat a little and tell them it is connected directly,
even though I do have a hub between the modem and my system. It's
aggrivating to have a problem because they insist on troubleshooting by
the book. Do this, do that, reinstall your software, "What?".... Yep,
they refused to help any longer until I found the stupid CD that came
with my installation and reloaded the windows software. Both times I
had a problem it was on their end, but it took at least and hour and a
half of me wasting my time doing things by their "book".
I mentioned Linux and they said "we don't support it". I mentioned a
router and got a lecture on how the service was limited to a single
computer and I'd better not connect more that one behind that router,
besides it wasn't supported either. RIght.....
