[ale] syntax scp or rcp

[Dow Hurst]

What is the right syntax in a tcsh for retrieving a remote tar archive 
and piping it into a tar extract command?  This doesn't work:

rcp walker:/d2/rep/temp.tar | tar xf -

What would be the best way to do it if you don't have extra space on the 
local drive to retrieve the archive and then extract it but want to 
retrieve and extract at the same time?
