[ale] Kernel and hardware woes

They don't run that hot.  Athlon CPUs are spec'd to die at around 85
degrees celcius for the XPs and 90 for regular old athlons, iirc.

I've been told by an athlon tech that it's not good for them to go above
55-60C.
