I went that route.
Couldn't be happier, I figure I saved in the 6 or 800 dollar range. The only thing about refurbs is you don't get to build them out. So you have to wait until what you want comes along.Â
I was not able to get the internal wireless card for example for mine. This isn't so big a deal as I have a several different cards for different uses anyway. But it would have been cool.
I "surfed" the refurb site for a couple of days so I could see what sort of prices to expect. I noticed the machines configured like I wanted were running in the 2600 dollar range. After a couple of days one came along at 2400 and I jumped on it.
I guessed at the time that it would have been roughly 3200 new.
Happy hunting
Russ

Subject: [ale] dell refurbished laptops
I know someone on the list has one, but deleted the original message.
Just wondering if it was received in essentially "new" condition, and if
there are any caveats to watch for.
Thanks!!!
John
