I have a Sharp Zaurus 5600SL that I have high hopes for. The OpenZaurus
project just got stable enough for that model for me to try as soon as I
have time. Any model that you can find people happy with the current
opensource OS project on their model would be fine. I would definitely
read thru a month or two of postings for each project your interested in
for a particular piece of hardware. IPAQs will load OZ but I've only
been following OZ so don't know too much about anything but the Sharp
PDAs. Take your time investigating as OpenEmbedded is cranking up and
OZ's maintainer's are back on full steam ahead. So the future looks
bright for Linux PDAs the project is coding for. I think from posts
that the newer Sharp models may have better screen lighting.
Do lot's of homework on what PDAs are out there and what opensource
projects support them. I have waited since September to get an OZ that
would load on the Sharp 5600.
