[ale] Trouble shooting direction?

I have RH 9 installed, with the RH version of OpenOffice. Admittedly I 
don't use OpenOffice very often, but it stopped running at all today. I 
probably changed _something_ on the system since I last used the 
application, but durned if I know what.

Running from the command line, I get an error message to the effect of 
"Cann't find configuration files, will install single user" and then a seg 
fault.

Any clues/ideas/suggestions are warmly appreciated.
