If Redhat is using a bootloader called grub then you can edit the
grub.conf file and add the partition with XP. If Redhat is using LILO
as the bootloader then you will do the same in /etc/lilo.conf, however,
you have to run "lilo" after you make changes. I am surprised that
RedHat did not keep the XP partition in your bootloader menu. I don't
remember Redhat 9 being capable of resizing a NTFS partition either. If
you've lost your XP partition due to user error on installing Redhat
then you can install XP using Fat32 for the filesystem. That would
allow Redhat during install to safely resize and understand the XP
partition. If you would run in a shell "fdisk /dev/hda" and type "p"
and then "q", then email us the output, it would help alot. We need to
know what partitions you have to help you edit grub.conf or lilo.conf
safely, if XP is still left on the machine.
