My resume' doesn't even have a mailing address any more.  The real estate was to valuable.  Just a phone number and an email address, and the only phone I have is a cell.

If you are serious about it go ahead and get a local phone number.
Even if it's just a voice mail setup.  I'm not suggesting you lie about your where abouts, but you know what they say about getting your foot in the door.  Having a "local" appearance may get you past the initial scan and dump screenings.

I had to come to ATL to find a job here.  Looked online for a few months and got no where so I finally just came up for a week.  Had a job by Friday.

Russ

Have any of you tried getting jobs in other places using Monster or
headhunters? Anybody had any luck doing that?  In my limited experience
it's kind of hard to get a job in a place you don't live yet, was
wondering if anybody had any pointers.

I live in a smallish city with limited tech jobs, esp in my SO's area of
expertise (Oracle and Solaris), and we're both looking to get out of here.
Of course, if any of ya'll are hiring ((oracle dba &| sr solaris admin)
&| (mid-level jack of all trades)) let me know. ;)

Cheers
jenn
