Hi folks,
Not too long ago, I was able to mount W2k shared directories on my
RH8 box. Sometime between 4am March 30 and 4am March 31, I lost this
ability.
spoo:~# mount /mnt/jane
8414: session setup failed: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.)
SMB connection failed
spoo:~#
fstab entry:
//jane/c /mnt/jane smbfs user,fmask=666,dmask=777,username=jane,password=foo,ro,noauto 0 0
Now, I believe I upgraded to Red Hat 9 in early April, so I'm *pretty*
sure that this broke while I was using RH8. But I wouldn't swear to
it. (I'm still using 2.4.18 kernel, though, as for some reason I can't
get dma working under 2.4.20.)
The other thing that might have changed, is that the owner of the W2K
box in question might have installed some "security updates" from
Microsoft.
The funny thing is, I can mount the W2K shares on my W98 box, and I
can mount the W98 shares on my Linux box. So it's just the W2k->Linux
mounts that are a problem.
Has anybody else had this problem?
