I second Louis' comments on the ALE-NE meeting. The talk was great and the complex was massive!
Having never been to an install-fest, I am kind of out of the loop in terms of what this entails. Obviously it's a gathering to install linux, but how is it promoted and what not? I also assume that edeltacom wouldn't be all about having tons of random people toting computers in and out (although we all did that last night...), so where would it be held?

> Hi All,
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Danny Cox for an excellent
discussion and presentation on software raid.
It changed my viewpoint. I never would have considered software raid over
hardware but now I will. Dan, please let us know where to get the
presentation.
In all, the meeting had about 25 people show up and we were able to get
the
grand tour of Edeltacom's Data Center. I would call it a Data-Megaplex but
the term seems too small. Edeltacom has wireless and Ethernet access for
attendees and laptops are welcome.
Excellent to see some really old faces and meet some new.
One future topic of discussion that was requested was to talk about
security, specifically on Red Hat, and what are some of the nastier
exploits
we should remove from a default installation. If you are interested in
giving this or any presentation, please let me know.
I think I heard Rob Hoppe volunteer to start getting an ALE-NE
Install-fest
in order.
Thanks for an excellent time at the first ALE-NE meeting!
Louie
