Yes, proprietary software for Linux does exist, but the preponderance
of Linux software is open-source or free.  And as far as I know, the
tool the BSA uses for audits is Windows-only.  As I've indicated
before, I've read of BSA people doing the audits who have caused damage
to *nix machines because they tried to run their audit software on them
("What?  You mean computers exist that don't run Windows?).

Most likely, until BSA-sponsoring companies are selling enough
proprietary software that runs on Linux to make it worth BSA's while to
set up to audit Linux machines, a switch to Linux will pretty well
avert a BSA audit, simple beause they don't have the skills to do it on
Linux.
