[ale] burned by the burner

Seems like you have recently added a new device to your machine. Seems
like either some kind of memory reader or one of those disk on a chain
type of thingies (Heavy technical terms :) ). It's probably a usb
device. Unplugging it and rebooting should bring it back to normal, but
running:
cdrecord --scanbus
will tell you where it (cd-burner) was moved to.
On a side note, those memory devices are emulated as scsi disk and so is
your writer. It's a matter of who gets there first.
