[ale] Learning Perl

I agree, but would also recommend the Learning Perl book from O'Reilly, 
even if you aren't a beginner. Perl is much different from Java, so most 
of your skills won't transfer. Also try CGI Programming from O'Reilly. 
The examples are in Perl.
