Yeah, it's rated 4x-10x. I think that the newer versions of cdrecord
won't let you burn at a higher speed then the cd will permit. I tried
this a few days ago and it reverted to 2x, the max speed for the media
that I was burning.

Hmm, I'd expect cmp would work better, as it's a byte comparison. I
suspect it's faster as well?

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
