[ale] before I replace this drive?

Since you have nearly a G left on /home, moving stuff to a new directory
and them symlinking will solve the space problem at least temporarily.
It just gets hard to keep moving stuff around :)
If you can afford an additional hard drive, stick it in and make it
/home. Then give all the old home space to /usr
