[ale] Linux and Laptops.

I currently have Win2K/RedHat7.2 on Dell latitude C800 - Intel PIII-850.
My friend has a Vaio (AMD 1Gig)which was setup to emulate an Intel chip
(forgot how) and works flawless with XP/RH7.2.
