The company that I used to work at (it "went under") had started to
slowly move development off shore before we "went under". We had some
H-1's too, but they were pretty smart, and well qualified for the
positions they had. The thing that annoys me about what happened with
where I worked, is they shut down the company, and kept the off shore
workers on the projects. They basicly replaced us with people off
shore. Now I do consider that treason, esp in the state of things now.
I just do not know what can be done for it. They basicly replaced the 3
or 4 main developers we had (twards the end) with I think amost 20
people, for less money. I am still out of a job, and I am sure they are
still sending money out of the country to these off shore developers,
when we could (maybe, just maybe) still have been a company employing
people in the states if they had done things differently (long
story...). This is the trend that will truly F*ck the economy here in
the states in the long run.
Oh, BTW... Motorola just layed off another 7000 people, "So that we can
stay profitable".
