You know I've got something to say. :)

I'm all for leveraging Linux, but I'll share some realities here.  I 
assume were talking elementary/middle/high school.  Correct me if I'm 
wrong.  Anway, as my wife is a teacher in an elementary school I've got 
some insights into these issues, at least as far as Cobb County goes.  I 
assure you the best you will do is replace server environments at this 
level.  Currently Cobb County uses Novel Netware, so they're not totally 
M$ shop.

Because of the investment in software these school systems have, and the 
comfort level the average teacher has with M$ environment, you won't be 
able to touch the computers in the classroom or labs.

Now, if we're talking servers, yeah, we know that can be done, so I'm 
game.  Question is, where to start?  Who do we talk to?

There is a web site regarding just such an approach here in Georgia, 
unfortunately, it's either gone or unavailable.  The site was 
http://www.wegrow.org/   (wegrow - Where Educators Get Rid Of Windows) 
Searching Google, there's references to the site in the google cache. 
There's a reference to Lassiter High School. There are a couple of email 
addresses there, I'm going to send them email and see what's up with 
their efforts.

I'll post more once I hear from the wegrow folks.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
