[ale] ext3 recovery

I don't believe Tom's r/b will mount ext3, that's why I posed the 
question in my previous posting if all the filesystems were ext3.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
